The Saddlers Centre part of £11.4m Town Centre enhancement programme

The Town Centre is being transformed as part of the Borough’s £1.5billion programme of investment.

The Saddlers Centre will receive a facelift creating a light and modern feel, to attract new visitors and businesses to the Town Centre.

Work is due to start Spring/ Summer 2024 and will see the former M&S unit transformed in to an adult learning facility in conjunction with Walsall College.

Melvin Glasby, Centre Manager at the Saddlers Shopping Centre said:  “We’ve been working closely with the Council on this for some time, and it’s great to see the plans begin to really take shape. We welcome and encourage opportunities for non-retail uses and the proposed plans will really inject life back into the town centre.”

The walkway between the bus and train connections will be opened up and present a welcoming environment for visitors and residents.  As well as improvements to the public space in the town centre so it is inviting and more attractive.
